Vision for Mac OS X Released

MasterSolution introduces the first cross-platform classroom management tool for school computers. Vision for Macintosh OS X includes the same easy to use features found in the popular Windows version. With Vision, educators can monitor all student computer activity from their desktop, demo their computer screen to student screens, lock student keyboards and mice, take remote control of a student computer and utilize several additional features to improve computer based teaching

These powerful features guarantee that educators, librarians, and technology coordinators have complete desktop control of their computer classroom ensuring students stay on task, are using the computer appropriately and can easily follow any lesson being taught. This makes Vision particularly useful for computer-based instruction and training, and is often viewed as a must have application by educators advocating the effective use of technology in the classroom.

"We are extremely pleased to be able to extend Vision’s teaching tools to the Macintosh platform," said Peter Schuepbach, MasterSolution CEO. "Educators have been asking for better teaching tools on the Macintosh and with the release of Vision for Macintosh OS X we are answering that call. This is the first of many new products we anticipate releasing in the coming months to help empower educators in the use of technology in the classroom.”

Innovative Plug-in technology
In addition to the supervision, screen sharing and control features in Vision that educators count on to guide classroom computer activity, additional software plug-ins can be installed to extend the core functionality. Plug-ins currently available for Vision include Surf-Lock, the incredibly popular ‘one-click’ web blocking tool that lets teachers turn Web surfing on or off during instructional periods and the equally popular on-screen annotation tool MasterPointer, with over 20 highlighters, arrows and spotlights which can be used to focus attention to a particular area of a presentation or enhance an on screen lesson.

Vision is a favorite among educators because it brings an element of control back into the computerized classroom while at the same time offering easy to use features to facilitate student/teacher interaction. With the added support of the Mac OS X platform a completely new group of educators will be able to enjoy the benefits Windows users have experienced using Vision in the classroom.
