OnSight School Monitoring Software – A Sneak Preview
Imagine teachers and administrators being able to monitor and supervise the computer activity of a student or group of students from any computer in a school or across an entire district. Next imagine the ability to track and log student computer activity to create an objective and precise record of who did what and when. In a few months you won’t have to imagine anymore.
This Spring, MasterSolution will be introducing an entirely new product called OnSight. OnSight will provide education professionals with the ability to monitor student computer usage over an entire school or campus from any LAN-connected Windows computer. Additionally, a built in automatic activity recording capability will allow School Administrators to always have a detailed history of how school computer resources are being used and by whom. For teachers, OnSight will offer a virtual, real-time window into student computer activity even when the teacher is in a different room.
OnSight will provide a simple, yet powerful collection of features including:
- Ability to observe a virtually unlimited number of computers
- Support for multiple administrators or teachers to observe the same computer or group of computers simultaneously.
- Ability to observe a computer in real-time
- Log application usage, web site activity and periodic screen shots referenced by time, date, computer name and login
- Ability to create logical groups of computers for observation or logging purposes
- Change observed groups “on the fly” just by selecting the desired group in the Console browser.
- “Auto Monitor” groups can be defined for Student computers or student logins for automatic activity recording of “trouble machines” or “trouble students”
- No special hardware or software requirments to run
- Works across LANs and WANs
- Built in security features that let administrators determine who is authorized to observe and which computers or students can be observed.
OnSight will take the guess work out of trying to determine how school computers are being used and whether or not the school’s acceptable use policy is being adhered to.
MasterSolution is looking for beta candidates to participate in the OnSight beta program this Spring. If you are interested in helping test this new product, contact your account manager at 866-725-7833.
