How do I create a classroom in Vision6?
1. Double-click the Vision icon on your desktop to open the Vision window.

2. On the File menu, point to New and click Vision Classroom.

3. In the Create new Vision Classroom window, enter the classroom name and any comments you want to include. Comments appear in the classroom properties.

  • To allow students of the class to log on to or opt out of classes at their own discretion, select the Open Enrollment check box.
  • To make this classroom your default classroom, which is available from the desktop, select the Assign this Classroom to the My Classroom shortcut check box.

4. Click Next.

5. Select the computers you want to add to the classroom. You can select computers in two ways. NOTE: If this classroom allows open enrollment, you cannot add computers from the network to the classroom.

  • Click Open Network to open a Windows Explorer window. Drag the computers you want to the list of computers in your classroom.
  • Click Add to open the Enter computer names window. Type the names of the computers you want to include in your classroom and click OK.

6. Click Next, and then click Finish.

Can I use my Vision5 license key on Vision6?

If you have an up-to-date ASUP (Annual Support and Upgrade Protection) contract for Vision, your current license key will work. Most customers who have a current contract for Vision5 also have a license key that will install Vision6.

Occasionally, a customer will call who has a current ASUP contract but is using a very old license key. That will cause a problem with a new installation of Vision6. License keys are sent by email when you renew your ASUP contract so be sure to check with your technology contact at your school for the latest keys if you are installing Vision6.

How do I upgrade my Surf-Lock to Surf-Lock2?

License keys for the original version of Surf-Lock will not work when installing Surf-Lock2. The new version requires a brand new license key. If you are a current customer of Vision6 and have purchased Surf-Lock2, you will want to make sure that you have the license key that was sent out with your purchase before you install your new Surf-Lock2 software. Also, some customers who own Surf-Lock are eligible for a free upgrade to Surf-Lock2 and may need a new key to take advantage of their upgrade. If you are having a problem finding your key or want to find out if you need a new one, just give us a call, toll free at 866.725.7833.
