How do I chat with my students?

Click on the Chat icon from your Vision toolbar

Click on the first icon if you want to chat with the entire class room

When chatting with the entire class room, all chat is displayed on all of the student computers as well as the instructor’s.

If you want to select specific students to chat with, simply click the second button (New Session icon)

Then select who you want to chat with (you can select one or more)

Click on Create to begin your chat session with Eric.

From here you can utilize the icons on the top to close the chat, save it, copy, send a message with a file attached, or bring others into the existing chat session.

How do I send a file using Vision?

File transfer is done through Chat. Click on the Chat icon in the Vision toolbar, and then select Send Message

You can enter your message, browse to the file to send, select recipients and send

The students you selected will receive the following:

The student can then open the file by double clicking.

If you would like to collect the file back you have 2 choices: Collect and Timed Collection. The Timed Collection allows you to specify the exact time you want the file to be pulled from the student computers. You can specify to leave a copy with the student or not. The Timed Collection is especially useful when you want to send out a test and auto collect when the time is up.

When the Files are collected in either Collect or Timed Collect, they are both saved in the same location: C:\Program Files\GenevaLogic\Vision\Chat\WFiles

The files will be saved in individual student folders (shown below).You can easily make a short cut to your desk top to expedite access to this folder by right clicking on the folder, drag to desk top, select Create Shortcut Here.
