NEW!! Vision Version 6 Released
GenevaLogic today launched the next generation of its Vision® classroom management™ software for education. Designed to offer teachers a simple and effective way to manage, control and optimize the use of technology to support instruction, Vision6 combines a new and intuitive teacher interface with support for both wireless and wired networks.

One of the major improvements to Vision is the introduction of an entirely fresh concept in classroom management™ software with the integration of a streamlined supervision window or Dashboard that gives instructors a flexible and dynamic view of the classroom computers. The Dashboard is the focal point within Vision that will allow teachers to resize, rearrange and customize their view of the student computers with new controls for applying teacher commands instantly to any computer in the classroom.

Among the new features added to Vision, in response to teacher input, is an innovative network communication and connectivity model to keep pace with the changing technology environment in today’s schools. Extended classroom technology removes the traditional limits on using classroom management software over a school network. With Vision, instructors can now extend their computer screens to any student computer, even if that student is in a different classroom, across campus or at another school across the district. Flexible connectivity also means that mobile labs, carts and laptops are fully supported and easy to manage. Vision6 lets teachers connect and disconnect to different students and classrooms with just a few clicks of the mouse.

“At GenevaLogic, we are committed to developing classroom management software that meets the changing needs of today’s schools,” said Kirk Greiner, President, GenevaLogic. “We worked with educators around the world to develop new features for Vision6 that offer easy ways to ensure that student computer use supports instruction anytime, anywhere.”
Another key feature in Vision6 is a wake-up command to turn computers on remotely. Using the Wake On LAN capability, teachers can power on computers in a lab or classroom from their computers at the beginning of class. Then, with the Shutdown feature in Vision, teachers can log off, reboot or shut down all student computers at the end of class.

In addition to popular features such as screen sharing, remote control, computer locking and remote file distribution, Vision6 now offers remote installation capabilities. This means that a schools’ information technology staff can install Vision remotely over the network throughout an entire school or district.

Vision6 is optimized for state-of-the-art classrooms and mobile labs but since not all schools have the most updated equipment, GenevaLogic will keep Vision5 available to support the widest possible variety of configurations. Vision5 will still be offered for schools with computers that aren’t new and teachers who prefer a traditional classroom configuration.

Vision6 is available in English, German, French and Italian. Existing Vision customers with active annual support and upgrade protection packages can download a free upgrade to Vision6 without the need for a new license.
