Quiz Answers

1) A. Some people believe VIRUS originally stood for Vital Information Resource Under Siege.
2) A. It is widely held that computer viruses were created by a couple of brothers to deter pirating of their software.
3) B. Elk Cloner was the first computer virus to infect home computers. It was really quite harmless, created by a high school student as a prank on his friends. He’d create a floppy disc with a game on it, encode the Elk Cloner on it, and pass it around to his pals. They’d play the game 49 times, and on the fiftieth time the game was loaded, it wouldn’t start, but a snarky message would appear:

Elk Cloner: The program with a personality
It will get on all your disks
It will infiltrate your chips
Yes it's Cloner!
It will stick to you like glue
It will modify RAM too
